Saying Goodbye to the Ring: Arfa’s Retirement Story

There are moments in dog showing that stay with you forever, and deciding to retire your first show dog is one of them. After an incredible career in the ring, it’s time to step back and let my boy enjoy a well-earned retirement. It’s a bittersweet feeling, but above all, one filled with gratitude for everything he has given me.

Arfa (Ch Carradine Arfa Pint JW ShCex OSW) has been nothing short of exceptional.

A Career to Be Proud Of

From the very beginning, Arfa showed me what was possible with the right mix of attitude, consistency, and heart. Together, we’ve shared a journey that I will always be proud of.

His achievements speak for themselves:

• 10 Challenge Certificates

• Double figure Reserve Challenge Certificates

• Multiple titles achieved in the UK

• Multiple group placements at Open Shows, along with 2x RBIS

But beyond the wins and titles, it was his presence in the ring that made him so special. He always gave me everything, every time he stepped under the judge’s eye.

More Than a Show Dog

Arfa wasn’t just my first show dog, he was my teacher. He shaped my understanding of handling, patience, timing, and trust. Every ring we entered together helped build the foundation of everything I do today. He made me a better handler, and in many ways, a better person in the sport.

There is something incredibly special about your first real partnership in the ring. It’s where everything starts to make sense, and Arfa was that start for me.

A Bitter Sweet Goodbye (For Now....)

Retiring him brings a mix of emotions. There is pride, joy, and deep gratitude… but also that quiet feeling that this chapter is closing. The ring won’t feel quite the same without him.

But more than anything, I feel lucky. Lucky that I had the chance to campaign such a special dog. Lucky to share so many unforgettable moments together. And lucky that he gave me everything I could have ever asked for in a show career.

Who knows, he may just have to make an appearance again...

Now it’s time for Arfa to enjoy life away from the show scene, long walks, comfort, and everything he deserves after giving so much in the ring. He will always be my first champion, my biggest teacher, and a dog I will never forget.
